SuperHappyDevHouse is a non-exclusive event intended for creative and curious people interested in technology. We're about knowledge sharing, technology exploration, and ad-hoc collaboration. Come to have fun, build things, learn things, and meet new people. It's called hacker culture, and we're here to encourage it.
You can think of us as a party for hacker and thinkers, combining serious and not-so-serious productivity with a fun and exciting party atmosphere.
DevHouse started on May 29, 2005 by Jeff Lindsay and David Weekly and has been thrown just about every 6 weeks since then. DevHouse has since expanded to many different cities and countries around the world LINK.
The concept and culture of SuperHappyDevHouse were directly inspired by a number of cultural artifacts, including:
- Homebrew Computer Club
- LAN parties
- Hackers (book)
- Triumph of the Nerds
- French salons (intellectual events)
DevHouse is not a corporate, marketing or "networking" event. It's a "vendor neutral" event put on by passionate hackers like you specifically for you.
Okay, but how does SHDH compare to other Silicon Valley events?
